Predicting Backpressure from columns

Hi All,

I am using Agilent6410QQQ and want to switch methods from 4.6x150mm 5micron column to 2.1x150 1.8micron. I am however concern about the backpressure and I want to know if there is some equation that will let me know what pressure to expect.

I found this on the Agilent site: RRLC Online Method Translator

Click on the Advanced mode and there you can predict your system pressure with the new column

Are you trying to get better separation or decrease run time?
What is the optimal flow rate of your MS detector?
What is the max pressure of your LC?

(why does the link say to use 0.21mL/min for 1.8um column?)
