Currently running HP ChemStation version A.06.01, while there is no issue collecting data and managing our reports we have experienced some issues with the actual chromatogram when it is printed. There is no problem reading area counts or retention times, however the actual chromatogram prints off very lightly. My supervisor has informed me that this is not a printer issue, as the other two printers used on the computer produce similar results. So, are there any printing controls inside the software? Has anyone else experienced problems similar to this one. Again, all retention times and other data are clear and legible, while the chromatogram itself is almost pencil light. I recall using chemstation in college and not having any issues with the contrast.

Thanks,
Davis

Maybe the color codes in the PCS section of the Windows\win.ini file need to be changed. Agilent uses a series of three numbers groups for the data analysis colors, including chromatograms, axes, retention times, etc. For example, on mine the
DEChromatogram = 255 255 255
and the DEChrom1= 0 0 255

Or just reload the A.06.01 software; just back up your methods, sequence, and data directories first. Make sure you know your license number, or use the software to find it and write it down. Also print out the Configuration Editor settings.

What GC are you using? Thats a pretty old revision.

Turns out it was the color. All I had to do was exit chemstation, open the configuration and select the color I wanted.

Running a HP 5890 series two GC

By the way, do not call HP for tech support with the chemstation, call agilent technologies.

Thanks everyone!
