Hi. I have a 5890 Series II Plus that I am trying to connect to chromperfect. The HP-IB/RS-232 interface kit (HP19257A) from Alpha Omega has been installed on the GC. I have a 25pin to 9pin cable run from GC to the PC. I have configured the GC on chemstation multiple times and restarted everything in many orders to try to get things to communicate but I only get an 'offline' signal on the chromperfect acquisition program. I ran test 4 on the GC and it said its RS-232 and the baud rate was 19200. I tried running test 6 (RS-232 Communication Test) but it just sat there for a looooong time and only displayed dashes. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to get this thing communicating??

Thanks.

Hi, Are you shure you have the correct 25pin to 9pin cable? I should try to insert a modem RS232 cable and see if it helps.

Yes, that worked. Thank you.
