I have to analyze fosfomycin without having available LC-MS, GC or CE
I found a HPLC method which involves indirekt UV detection with a mobile phase containing acridine. however, I am afraid, that this stuff will be hard to get out of the system afterwards.
Now I thought of the following: is it possible to open the epoxide ring of fosfomycin - maybe by an amine or in a two-step reaction - to form an amino alcohol (which could then probably be detected with my good old amperometric detector or after derivatization)?
Please give some advice. Thank you!
