Help, ghost peak in QQQ's spectra

Discussions about GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, and other "coupled" analytical techniques.

Hi all,

I am running the QQQ (6410 Agilent) in the SRS mode (Scan-Colision-Scan). The spectra has just appeared a ghost peak at 197 amu which is quite high in abundance. The peak now seems to stick in the spectra.
I am not sure where the peak comes from. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Do you do any chromatography or just infusion and what is your mobile phase or infused solvent? Did you tried to just change the buffer/solvents that you introduce in the MS? What exactly do you mean by "stick" in the spectra?

Thanks for your input. It's just the mobile phase which is a mix of H2O and ACN. I did open the ballast for and it starts to reduce (luckily enough), slowly though.
What I am still confused is if I reduce the mobile flow to about 0.1-0.2ml/min, the peak and all other noises are gone.
