Hi all,

Recently I had few problems with chromato softwares, I'm wondering if these problems are known bugs or if I made mistake somewhere. So if one of you can help, it will be appreciated.

1) Chemstation software (LC) version A, driving Agilent 1100 LC:
I prepared an injection sequence for around 20 vials. Each sample (vial) is injected 3 times. From one sample to another, th injected volume is varying from 10µL to 100µL (10 by 10).
To save some time I used the option "overlap injection cycle" in my method. The problem is that the software seems to not send the right injection volume to the LC when injecting the 1st injection of a new sequence line.
To be more clear: the first line of the sequence said to inject 10µl of sample, 3times. The second line 20µl of sample, 3 times. the results obtained are 4 injections at 10µL and 2 injections at 20µL. Is the option used in my method not suitable for multi-volume injections? (note that the "preftech sample vial" option seems to work very nice.

2) Empower 2 software, driving Agilent 6890 GC:
Here again the injection volume in the sequence is not the real one. Sampler is 7684B. When you ask for 1µL injection, the sampler injects the volume corresponding to the 1st "stop" of the sampler...which in my configuration (5µL seringe, nanoliter enable) correspond to a 0,1µL injection. Surprisingly, in the report the software indicates:
"Injection Volume: 1µL".
I'm wondering how far it can be a problem, especially concerning Quality matters and regulated work.

3) Totalchrom software, driving autosystem XL GC:
Is the "injection volume" entry in the sequence a dead entry?
It seems that the GC inject the volume enter in your method whatever the value mention in the sequence. So if you want to inject different volume of your sample you need as many methods as injection volume, am I right?

Thank you
Matthieu
