Hello,

I´m doing an characterization of humic substances by their molecular height using high performance size exclusion chromatography. But this determination includes some specific data from chromatograms, hi*ti or Sum hi*ti.

We have an traditional HPLC system whit an SEC column and output data provided from chromatograms are height at peak maximum, retention time, area from peaks, % area of peak.

Thus anyone know a way to export data from HPLC software (retention time, peak area, peak height) to GPC software for determination of molecular weight distribution..?

There's a way to export (save to a file) the raw chromatogram to another software and transform them to height i versus time i DATA?

Thanks for attention,

DL25

What data system are you using?

Most programs have an export option allowing you to save in other formats. The "AIA" format (has it been replaced by a newer standard?) is supposedly an industry standard that can be loaded into other programs.

Of course, you will have to buy one of the other programs. You might investigate whether your current data system has a GPC option.

Hello,

thank's for your help..! I´m using a Chromeleon software. This weekend I try export data from this software in ASPII language and its DONE.

Do you know if it is possible import this data to an GPC software for determination of molecular weight distribution?

Hello,

You’d be happy to know that Dionex is about to release an extension pack for Chromeleon. This extension pack includes calculations for molecular weight distribution (and also for content uniformity and dissolution testing). This means you don’t have to export your data. Instead all calculations are automatically performed within the Chromeleon software, which saves a large amount of time. An alternative to this would be to export your data in the AIA (or ANDI) format. This format stores the raw chromatogram and results such as retention time, area, and height and most GPC software packages can import this file format.

The Chromeleon extension pack will be released at the end of August and is free of charge. Additional information will be added to our website (www.dionex.com) at the time of release.

Hello,

This is very good news..thanks. The Chromeleon 6.30 supports this new extension pack?

Could you send me the pack before the end of August? I have many samples to examine and results needed urgently. I can test your product..

THANKS
You can use Clarity Offline software with the GPC extension to import data in AIA (*.cdf files) or ASCII text format. Details are at:

Hello Cree,

I was examining Clarity Offline - Entension GPC and seems to be a nice product. Besides its able to work at home :o !!

We have a low budget to spend but I will contact DataApex soon..

Thanks,

DL25

The Chromeleon extensionpack will be supported by Chromeleon 6.80, as it's using reporting functions which were introduced in this version.
Hello B. Cann,

this means that I can not benefic from your new extensive pack Dionex because I have Chromeleon 6.30!

So I have to export my AIA data from HPLC system Chromeleon 6.30 to another SEC software..for molecular weights determination?!!

This new extensive pack could not be adapted to install on Chromeleon 6.30?

DL25

Unfortunatly this is not possible, because the template uses the new powerful reporting features that are only available in CM 6.80. Please note that CM 6.30 was released 7 years ago and it is not supported for several years now.
Hello again BvCann,

thanks for your informations. I see..its a long life time for an software.

Its possible, make an update of our licence Chomeleon TM 6.30 trought version 6.80?

Thanks for your great help,

DL25

Of course this is possible, but I'm afraid, that the commercial details are out of the scope of this forum. Please contact your local Dionex representative to discuss this. They will be happy to help you.
