Dear forum

I have a problem with my LC, it was working perfectly but now I can t use it as a Not Ready status has appeared on the ChemStation. All the instruments are in green except the tray that is red, and is only briefly switching to green when I place a new tray in.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Could you help me?

Thanks a lot!

I'm assuming that you have the front panel for the autosampler module in place; that's required for safety, and there's a sensor that won't allow operation if that's not in place. If you do have that front panel on, maybe your sensor got kicked out of place.

Click on the icon for the autosampler, and choose "Not ready information." That should tell you what the problem is.

If the answer isn't obvious, write back.

yes the door is in place, the autosampler is green and not in a Not Ready state. I just have a global Not ready state show on the left, but I can t click on it.
The only thing in Red is the tray, although it recognizes when I change tray, it stays red. I reseted the Injector, the arm and the needle seems to work perfectly. I really don t understand...

You may have either a defective tray or tray sensor in the autosampler. Each tray has a code to tell the autosampler which kind of tray is installed. You will probably have to call Agilent for service.

Do you really believe that you have problem with ALS? I had this problem with system which was equipped with DAD. Detector icon was green, deuterium lamp turned on, Tungsten lamp turned off (but method required both lamps-check boxes in DAD setting).
Probably it is not your problem but I recommed to check your method again.
When the tray is correctly recognized and green, I suppose it is functional.

Edit:" ...although it recognizes when I change tray, it stays red...."
Sorry, my mistake. I think you have to call to Agilent for repair.
