Plot column for nicotine analysis

Dear all,

We used to analyze nicotine by DB 5 column. Now I just want to change to a PLOT column with more polar stationary. Anyone suggest me on this?
Our analysis is quantitative, not for traced one.

I don't know of any PLOT column which will be useful for your analysis.

If anyone has a solution for nicotine I would encourage them to post it.

Good luck in your analysis. You might wish to review HPLC as a possible replacement technique.

Perhaps a cyanophenyl or phenyl siloxane will give you enough pi-pi interaction to better retain nicotine? At the extreme is the BPX-90.
