GCMS troubleshooting...

For about a week now I've been experiencing what seems like a leak, although not sure.

My guess is that I have a minute leak in the transfer line into the MS.

But my chromatorgraph looks like I might have a bad contimination. I changed the helium tank when this started to occur, and unfortunately I changed the column at the same time, so I cannot narrow it down to just the tank. I'm also thinking I might have introduced oil from the tank into the system. I've cleaned the source to see and only a slight improvement.

Just not sure, thought I'd ask here first. I call this the "grass effect" as though the peaks come out fine but you have these plateous randomly.

Ok, so I believe I have figured it out. I switched the rough pump and am getting a great baseline. Must of been leaking oil into my MS. So far so good.

Hi Goonie

Thanks for updating us, are you running full scan, or SIM ? If SIM, do the steps in the baseline coincide with changes in the ion(s) that youare looking at ?
