Perkin Elmer Turbomatrix Question

If you use a Turbomatrix that uses the brass endcaps with the TD sample tubes:

-does the instrument clamp onto the knurled end part of the fitting?

-would the brass end caps work if the knurling was of a diamond pattern instead of a straight line pattern?

The endcaps used for storage after sampling (normally Swagelok) have to be removed and cannot be used on the Turbomatrix tube handling mechanism. It uses its own custom push-fit PTFE caps.

You could use these PTFE caps for storage for up to a few days if the environment was clean but I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks for your help. I have some custom TD tubes that came with a very good quality brass end cap. I haven't used a Turbomatrix so I wasn't sure if the knurling made a difference or not. The tubes and endcaps came from Camsco.

I assumed too much. I am not familiar with Camsco and their custom thermal desorption products, but maybe their endcaps are OK for longer term storage. Their website doesn't go into details as far as I can tell. Anyway the special design of the PerkinElmer cap makes it reliable for the Turbomatrix handling mechanism to remove both ends simultaneously without eg. dropping the tube. This design is not really compatible with long term storage. It depends on a single o-ring.
