Is this the right forum for FPLC-Question?

Discussions about HPLC, CE, TLC, SFC, and other "liquid phase" separation techniques.

Hi,

ncie forum that you have here. I am working on Agilent 1200s and I had quite a bit of trouble in the beginning. Now, I am using Aekta Explorer 100s to do FPLC. Can I ask questions related to that here as well? If not, could someone help me find a forum on FPLC that is as good as this one?

Thanks!
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

I can’t see any reason for not asking your questions. FPLC is just another word for protein separation. I’m quite sure there are several members of this forum who will be able to find an answer to your question/s

If the question/s is/are related to this particular equipment (Aekta Explorer 100s) it probably won’t be me, doing the answering  I haven’t even heard of it - sorry

Best Regards

Stefan,

As you probably noticed by reading this forum; most of the participants are involved with analytical HPLC, and this includes reverse phase HPLC for a majority of the methods.

However, there are a handful of us protein chemists that "Hang Out" here at this forum. Personally, I have spent the over 20 years in the Biotech industry, involved in protein purification and analysis. This has been primarily with "Pharmacia" equipment : old FPLC's, AKTA 10, AKTA 100 and process scale skids with 3 mm to 10 mm tubing. ( I know that they became Amersham and are now GE, I will always refer to it as "Pharmacia" equipment ).

In recent years, I shifted my career from Process Development & Validation to Quality Control. Although my chromatography methods use aqueous buffers, I have learned alot from this forum and do not feel like an "outsider" because I don't drink acetonitrile, methanol and/or THF every day!

I have participated with many pharmaceutical forums and chat rooms - I feel this is the best for chromatography discussions. Thanks to Moderators, Sponsors and Members for making this forum what it is!!!

Good luck and Have Fun,
Rande

Awwww!

You're welcome!
