Schmadzu software

I've inherited an old GC running the Class VP 4.2 software.

Following a switch off and move, the software has restarted in demo mode - which doesn't allow acquisition.

Does anyone know how to get this out of demo mode? I'm sure it should be a simple option somewhere, but I've looked and can't find anything obvious. I've never worked with this software before so I may have overlooked what was right in front of me.

Thanks

Not knowing the software at all...

Is there a dongle key that has to be installed that might have slipped during the move?? That has happened to me with other software.
Kind regards

You have to remove the key file from the old GC and reinstall it

Grace2007 - do you know the filename and or location?
Thanks

My software version is class VP 7.2.1, the preinstalled key is serial#.lkt (must be 11 numbers). the location of the file: license disk that is shipped with your class vp, after installation, the name is drvstart32b.sys, and it is located at root directory of class vp

chromatography ->Key->Tool there is an install /uninstall key option.

v7.2 "works" differently than v4.2. As leadazide mentioned, there is a software "key" (dongle) that fits onto the "printer" port of the computer. Without this key installed, the software runs in the demo mode. v7.2 does not have this software "key". There could also be a problem depending on the version of Windows you are using. v4.2 does not work with anything newer than XP. It also will not work with "newer" versions of XP. We had an older version of XP that we were able to get to work with v4.2 but when that computer fried and we got a newer one, v4.2 would not work with the installation of XP that was on that computer. Installing the "old" version of XP fixed the problem.

Thanks for the help on this.

It is indeed Dongle related, not quite properly seated. Running fine now.
