Please advise how to interfase a Tekmar P&T Aquatek 70 to an Agilent 6890N/5975B system so that the P&T start the GC/MSD automatically.

I have two HT3 purge+trap instruments, and Tekmar supplied us with a cable that connects the autosampler to the GC. Perhaps give them a call and see if they can get a cable to you.

Hi,
the following may help you connect injector to the 6890, It was used to connect a PE ATD to the 6890, you need to refer to the autosamplers' manufacturer for cable connections.

The HP6890 GC uses one TTL connection for both START IN and START OUT and uses a second TTL connection for READY IN and READY OUT.
The HP6890 GC does not have a READY OUTPUT RELAY or a START OUTPUT RELAY and, therefore, it needs a special cable to communicate with other instruments in the system.

the instruction manual can be gotten at

http://chemstation.googlepages.com/PESa ... 100410.pdf

and you can purchase the cable from Perkin Elmer : P/N N610-0410

regards

Alex
