We have several HP5890's where we have had good success reaching our detection levels for chlorinated pesticides, toxaphene and pcb's. We have acquired some Agilent 6890 GC's equipped with micro-ecd's and can't seem to replicate the DL's achieved on the HP5890's. We are using Turbochrom for data collection/reduction. Any suggestions?

Hi!
6890 micro ECD is more sensitive than 5890....very more!
Have you check if you have the good column lenght at detector, good make-up flow, leak, capillary adaptor for ECD ect...?
I use Argon / Methane 5% for make-up gas, 60ml/min, 330celcius...
