As chromatographers on Valentinines day what made us forget about seperations and brought us all closer together?

A collegue of mine came out to her car this morning to find that her boyfriend had sneaked over in the middle of the night and cable tied hundreds of packets of love heart sweets to it.

As chromatographers on Valentinines day what made us forget about seperations and brought us all closer together?

If you're talking about with our significant others (and not with other chemists as I originally thought you were talking about - or were you?) -
it was the knowledge that if you don't do anything for Valentine's Day, be ready to hear about it for the next 365 days.

I played it safe, got the wife a card and chocolates. I'm picking up some flowers (carnations) on the way home.
