hi all,
Can anyone suggest me the method to quantify diacetone alcohol ? either by liquid injection or by head space(preferable) please.

its urgent. so please help me out of this. :(
also suggest me the column. my sample is soluble upto 5 % in Ethanol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, Water. and i will be using shimadzu GC-2010 for the said analysis.

Thx,
Regards
Dhruvil
Based on my experience with diacetyl I would prefer a less polar but not a non-polar column: OV-1301 or a VOCOL.

headspace might be tricky depending upon the stability of the alcohol in whatever dissolution solvent you choose. Benzyl alcohol might be my first choice if the alcohol is not stable in water.

I would try to avoid heat if possible.

Good luck,

Rod
