Determining peak purity when running a gradient method

Can peak purity be accurately determined if the API's are analysed using a gradient method? If so how do you select a representative portion of baseline noise for the peak purity calculation required when analysing using Empower software?

There is full instructions in the Empower training guide supplement for PDA detectors from page 32.
Not sure whether I am allowed to paste that here, but if you have empower the training guides should be available to you somewhere.

you want UG0000191 third from bottom and page 47 has a walk through guide (better than the old one I found on our company database.)
