Communication problem on hp 5890 series II GC

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

We have recently tried to "awake" an old 5890 II GC in my lab ofcourse with the help of our technicians. It started with not being able to connect the GC to the PC due to the unavailability of an "online" version of chemstation which we finally were able to create. Now, at this point we get a message of:
GC not found! Check that GC is correctly configured! in the agilent chemstation software.
Does anyone have an experience of this situation? What could be wrong? How do we solve this challenge?
Which operating system are you using on the PC?

Which rev of Chemstation are you using?

What is the part number of your HP-IB card?

Do you know the HP-IB address of your GC?
