Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has come across, or even perhaps written a program, that allows for the input of your HPLC gradient conditions and then generate a % waste for each reservoir on (say) a per litre basis.

The output im thinking of would be along the lines of:
82% ResA
16% ResB
2% ResC

For most gradients this calulation can be done pretty easily manually, but if we can do it via software...then why not. Would make the labelling of HPLC generated waste a little more easier to do.

Havagoodweekend!!

Why not just stick the calculation in a spreadsheet? If you want to share it, e-mail me privately and we can look at setting up a repository for shared tools of this kind.

Hi Tom

I'll give it a go then mate, was being lazy i suppose and seeing if this was already created somewhere in the "webosphere". (why reinvent the wheel?)

Cheers

(why reinvent the wheel?)
Sometimes, because the original inventor assumed that pi ≈ 3, and the resulting hexagonal wheels roll with a pronounced "thump".

That sounds like a feature that could be built into the instrument control system. Many systems track solvent consumption, why not waste generation? I'll ask someone at Softron.
