Hi everybody!

I have a question which isn't probably strictly chromatographyc, but i'm sure that someone could help me.

I know that with packed columns in GLC when were used silica support, they were modified in the surface by silanization reaction to avoid strong interactions with analites.

I need to modifie in the same way a glass film (more or less like the ones for microscope) can someone suggest me the reagents and reaction conditions?

Thank you very much

Hi,
You will need to keep it in a (roughly) 5% solution of dimethyldichlorosilane in toluene for about 30 minutes. Then you may rinse and dry.
Good luck
