Sample preparation by mixed-mode cation exchange:
Acidify your plasma sample (with HCl or similar) and dilute it 1:1 with the internal standard solution.
Load this solution onto an Oasis MCX cartridge (or 96 well plate).
Wash with 0.1 N HCl.
Now wash with methanol.
Elute the analyte with 5% ammonia in water with 10% methanol.
General methods of this type can be found on the Waters webside in the Oasis Applications Notebook with the number 720000609EN.
Further refinements are possible, if needed.
