Heres my situation. Got an 1100 Agilent with mutiple wavelength detector that I need to set up in series with an ELSD detector. We are using Millenium software to run the Agilent. Currently I have the start/stop cable from the Agilent connected to a SAT/IN box on event 1 and the ELSD is connected to channel 1 on the SAT/IN box. We have it set up to run each one individually. Now I need to run the two detectors in series and accumulate the data as two channels so do I run the MWD to channel 2 on SAT/IN box. Help. Thanks.

What is your question?
Try to define a new systen that uses both the VWD and the Sat/In. Works fine with Empower.

Currently theVWD is connected to an 8 port serial card. The ELSD is connected to the SAT/IN box which then goes to the 8 port serial card. Do I need to run the VWD through the SAT/IN too?

Using Agilent ChemStation, the Agilent MWD is perfectly compatible with your system as both are 1100s. Its the ELSD which uses the external A/D. With other software I am not familiar.

I dont think you should change an cables, as the sysrtem already gets signals from both detectors.
I havn't worked with Millenium, but in Empower there is a subprogramm called system config. In there you can define "chromatographic systems" like autosampler, pump and 1 or 2 detectors. you should already have at least two configurations.
