Need help developing a method for a drug which contains two epimers. A the moment our analytical method seperates the two epimers but we would like a single peak for the two epimers. Is it possible to get one peak without peak splitting?

This problem is usually accessible with either elevated temperature or pH manipulations. I would start with changing the pH to see if the form of the peaks is changing. You can find an example in my book "HPLC Columns" on pages 362-364 in the Troubleshooting section.

Two approaches possible:(1)chromatographic and (2)
chemical. For (1) need information to suggest ways
to reduce resolution.What kind of compound are you
dealing w and what is your chromatographic system?
For (2) still need to know something about
compound. One method for an aldose, for example,
would be osazone formation. Both epimers would
react w phenylhydrazine to form a single product.
