Hello all...

I have recently started analysing waste solvents using ASTM D 5830. Column DB 1701(Varian equivalent) however Hexane and IPA are co-eluting?
Any suggestions to achieve separation??(other than change columns  )
I have tried various temp. programmes but to no avail!

Regards

Oz
You can use different starting temperatures as the 1701 has multiple selectivity mechanisms which compete differently at different temperatures.

Other than that, use a small amout of another polar column to pull IPA behind hexane.
