How can I get automatically calculated the chromatographic parameters such as plate number and asymmetry/tailing factor when using LCQ ThermoFinnigan mass spectrometer and LCQ Navigator 1.2 program? What about with LTQ mass spectrometer and Xcalibur 1.4 SR1 and LCquan 2.0 programs?
I study medicinal chemistry in University of Kuopio (Finland) and I'm focusing on analytics and especially LC-MS.

I don't think you can get that info out of the LCQ software.
At least, I haven't figured out how to do it yet, and we were one of the first labs to get a LCQ (now called LCQ classic).
You can use reports or Qual browser to print out S/N, and you can use processing method to set up system suitability parameters that include resolution and symmetry criteria, but I've never seen plates or tailing factor numbers associated with a peak.
Maybe in version 3.0, if enough of us ask for it....
