Injection from 8-vial turret on a 6890N with EZChrom

We have a 6890N with a 7683 ALS (G2613A; firmware A.10.04). We'd like to be able to inject from the 8-vial turret since our tray died. The system is controlled by EZChrom version A.04.05 of OpenLab. We've disabled the tray on the GC and aligned the turret on the ALS. All hardware appears to be set correctly on the GC. We've downloaded the instrument configuration in EzChrom. Configuration appears to be correct in EZChrom.

When we try to inject in EZChrom, we get the message: "The vial 1 is not allowed with the current device configuration." Not sure what the problem is here - seems like EZChrom thinks the GC is still using the tray-specific turret, or EZChrom does not support injecting from the 8-vial turret. Does any have any suggestions on getting this to work?

Thanks in advance.
Hi Jake,
I don't know if this helps but when we use our system with the same auto sampler and 6890gc and no tray configured with Agilent Chemstations the vial positions in the 8 vial turret are required to be positions 101, 102, 103 up to 108 when specifying them as a sample location. I am not sure if that is a quirk of how we have things set up but I have never been able to get the non tray configuration to work any other way

Even on the 5890 series, one needed to term the vial positions using the tower injector only as 101, 102, 103, etc.

I think on the 5890 one actually needed to pull the tray circuit board out of the control box to do this.
Thanks for the replies folks. Yeah, we tried that, and just about everything else one could imagine (01, 101, 1001, 0-1, etc.).
When the tower is in the front injector it is 101, in the back position it is 201.

Thanks for the reply varossf - that may be it. It is a dual-channel system. Let me check.
Yep - that was it. I should have figured that out. All working now. Thanks for the help.
