GC 6890N column installation

Hi everyone,

Iam new to GS, recently I changed column and in the guideline it says to confirm if its correctly installed. I use recommended method but when I press "start" peak appears by itself without injecting sample, and when I inject it nothing happens. What could be the cause? Thank you in advance.

Mode - split
Heater - 40C
Pressure - 20 psi
Split ratio - 5:1

Oven temp 40C

Detector:
Heater 200C
Reference flow 30

after I injected butane I got a peak I needed but its up side down (it looks down instead of up) how can I change it?

It is the right way to get positive peaks by chooseing appropriate polarity.

If your detector is installed in front channel then you should choose a signal from front detector.

The guideline says I need to condition the column and only oven temperature was given, do you know by any change what are other parameters?

Try to "google" column conditioning on manufacturers website. The most important thing is to have carrier gas flow during conditioning. Don't stress the column with too high temperature and too long conditioning.
