Hi I've got a fully functional Agilent 1100 system (MWD, autosampler, quaternary pump, degasser, two position column oven). It was run as an MS system but now the MS component is non functional and I want to re configure it to only use the UV detector. I tried doing it from the configuration manager but the system says it requires a new license to run is as an LC instead of an LCMS.

So is there a way I can run methods on an LCMS without the system looking for the MS component? Or am I out of luck?

Thanks ian.
Hello

It is possible. You need to go to tab "instrument" and click "configuration".
Than remove MSD from list and restart Chemstation. MSD will not be visible on system diagram.

Thanks Tomasz

I did try that but the system still seems to wait for a signal? I think I need to disable the active splitter control (even though that is physically removed)
Hello

In Chemstation you have tab "active spitter". Just turn it off (disable it).
