Hi all,

I have an Agilent 1200. We have been having issues with some kind of build up whether it be salt or bacteria growing in our system.
Does anybody know of anything that we could flush the system with? I've tried water for the salt, and various amounts of ACN/IPA but to no avail.
I talked to Agilent and they recommended a mixture of IPA/ACN/Cyclohexane/Methylene Chloride but I can't remember the ratios.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure Agilent didn't say IPA then ACN then Cyclohexane then Methylene Chloride? And then to reverse the order of solvents?
Check with Agilent again. They are in the best position to know what is / is not compatible with the materials in their system.

In general, something like dilute phosphoric acid will clean up and passivate stainless steel. That organic solvent witche's brew would be appropriate for flushing lipids / fats / waxes from a column. But I'll repeat: CHECK WITH AGILENT.

Checked with them and they recommended a mixture of 50% Isopropanol : 25% ACN : 25% Cyclohexane

It seemed to help and pushed some type of gunk out of our system, not 100% sure what it actually is though.
