Why does Shimadzu prominence D2 lamps last much longer than Agilent 1100? Our lab record was 14000 hs (believe it or not) passing noise, energy and linearity tests. In general, they lasts over 6000 hs while Agilent´s over 2000 hs diez (noise vs time graphs is an hyperbole). Is there an explanation?

As I know there are only 2 manufacturers of D2 lamp, Agilent and Shimadzu use the same company (Hamamatsu), but why is one better then other I don't know
