Upgrading 5890 Series II with 7683 autosampler

Hello, I am looking to upgrade my 5890 Series II GC with a 7683 autosampler. I currently have a 7673 autosampler and am having quite a few problems with it. I saw that I need a G2912A controller box instead of the G1512A that I currently have. Also, I need a G2614A tray because the older 18596A-C trays are not compatible. I found the cable and PC software on the Agilent website, but it appears Agilent does not sell the controller box or tray anymore. Does anyone know where to look for the controller box or the tray?

You could post a free wanted ad on www.labx.com. We repair/refurb 7673 autosamplers. What problems are you having?

We had a G1512A control box go bad on a 6890 system, and we also had an unused ALS 7683 tower. We contacted Agilent about upgrading the GC to accept the 7683, and they told us we had to go 3rd party for that, and the quote was pretty costly. I think that would be even more complicated to do with 5890. Agilent no longer repairs or does bench repair on G1512A.

So we decided to get a used G1512A, and that's what is now working for us, more economical.

I'm going to agree with Cathy, and you should get your current 7673 repaired, or get a used or refurbished one.
