Hydrogen detection limit

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Hi all,

We have used GC-TCD for hydrogen analysis, and the LOD is about 50-100ppm. I am not sure if there is a detector and/or ways to analyze H2 gas down to 1 ppm ?

Thanks for all input.
thohry,

A helium ionization detector will get you down to 1 ppm. Need to be aware that, like the TCD, it will see everything else in your sample. You can look at mine (DBDHID) or Valco's (PDHID) for a retro-fit version that will fit on most GC's. Let me know if you need more info aicmm at flash dot net.

Best regards,
