Morning All,

I'm trying to connect our new HPLC up to our Bruker Maxis, using Hystar to run the HPLC. We tend to use the ICF plugin to run Agilent kit, as we often have fluorescence detectors that Hystar doesn't deal with. Our new 1260 system has a G1321C FLD, and Hystar doesn't seem to detect it (although Agilent LabAdvisor does). When we bought the system, the Agilent rep assured us that it was fully compatible with Hystar, and that for anything where compatability was an issue, there was an 1100 emulation mode that we could use to get round it.

Having a read, it seems that the ICF plugin only supports G1321A or B (not C), and that G1321C doesn't have an emulation mode.

Does anyone have any experience here?

I'm a little concerned - the Agilent rep also told us that it would run normall with Waters software (as per our other system) - that is, via ethernet - however that doesn't seem to be the case either (contact closures and separate software is the only way we're managing...).

Cheers,

Andy
Hello

You need to change FLD type from C to A/B. You should use Agilent LC firmware update tool (it should be on CD with software - check folder "supprot"). The operation is called "emulation" and it is performed for non-Agilent software compatibility.
I think you can also do it using LAbAdvisor however I'm not sure if it is true for all LabAdvisor version (you'll probably need advance mode).

Thanks Tomasz. That's really interesting, because Agilent have now told me that it's not possible (hence the late response - sorry). I will have a look!

Cheers,

Andy
