My chemstation version is B00.00, running in Windows NT, the model of GC is 6890, MS is 5973
The connection is using GPIB, like "PC<GPIB>GC<GPIB>MS"
The problem is happened after power suspension of 36 hours.
When Chemstation is loaded, it can successfully bring up GC, but when in the part of loading MS
Chemstation shows a message "After download, boot in progress was not cleared", and the status is holding in "Initializing"
I can control the parameters of GC like temp, flow..etc.
However, when I go to "Diagnostic and Vacuum control", and check the MS status, it shows “The mass spectrometer interface card is not active”
And the pump of MS is operating normally
I set up a another chemstation without the MS, I can operate my GC-FID normally.....

How can I bring up my MS in chemstation? :?
Hello

Go to MSD display/menu and find option "reboot controller" (it is under menu-instrument).
If it doesn't help - switch off MSD and switch it on (1-2 seconds will not destroy MSD but controller will be reset)

Thanks Tomasz!

But I have tried to reboot my MS and PC, it doesn't work.
Hello

Check address in MSD (perhaps MSD has lost settings) and try to reconfigure it again (set up address from scratch).

From the Diagnostics and Vacuum control screen have you tried the "Initialize MS Interface"?

Sometimes that will make the MS begin talking again.
The past is there to guide us into the future, not to dwell in.
