Varian 2000GC-MS and 1079 injector

Hi All,
Hope someone can help.
I have a Saturn Trap with 3800 GC and 1079 injector.
This injector uses the tapered graphite ferrule.
Is there anything I can use other than this graphite ferrule so make a good seal?
I seem to get fragments in the wool however careful I am to remove/insert liners

Hello,

We use the PTV 1079, same as you are using. We've always used the graphite ferrule that Varian recommends with no prblems.
Interesting topic though. Keep in touch if you find others with the same problem or solutions. Good luck!
