When testing, don't some manufacturers just separate those out with exceptionally low bleed and call them MS phases? All manufacturers try to make columns with as low bleed as possible.

There is also cross-linking and cross-bonding of the phases which help make lower bleed in the columns. Each process is different on how they coat the phase on the column.
