Hi,

I have a Waters 2695 instrument and am still using Empower 2 software.

I have been getting the error message saying 'available tablespace (9.312500 MB) below minimum level to continue processing, Processing Aborted' in the message center since last year. As a result I could not review the datas from that project even if I pressed 'Updated'. To make it work, I have to go to project property and manually increase the tablespace.

Recently the same problem happened to other project as well. I wonder if this is a software issue or a computer issue (not very familiar with IT)....

has anyone experienced the same problem as me before? Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

Thank you!
Hi, it is part of the Empower system administrator job to increase the tablespace regularly.
This is normal.

Most admins periodically lock down and archive projects, eventually removing the locked projects to keep things down to a manageable size. If needed, older projects can always be restored and worked with. Table space refers to the amount of Oracle database space occupied by records for a given project. Data file storage is another issue you will eventually run into as well - especially if people tend to use default settings, long run times and high scan rates for QDa and PDA detectors.
Thanks,
DR

Hi Csaba and DR,

Thanks very much for the suggestions! Guess I will just have to increase the tablespace then.

Have a nice day!
The point of it is to encourage users to back up/clear out their projects regularly, or start new projects, rather than just end up with the entire disk occupied by one mega-project with data going back years. We had some systems ages ago which were poorly administered, and users were simply increasing table-space ad infinitum, with the consequence that finally someone helpfully deleted most of Microsoft Office and all of the Waters help-files because the disk was full.
