I'm taking a chance on some used columns ($40 vs $700!), and wonder if there is a reliable way to clean them.

They're Waters Symmetry C8 4.6x150mm, mobile will be MeOH/AcCN/water/HOAc.

Any good ideas?

Thank you!
If you are mentioning about buying used columns around $40 , please also consider blocked frits , void packing , leaking connections , precipitated buffers inside the column etc.

If you are lucky , and get a column in good condition , then try 20% ACN + 80% water first , and continue with 100% ACN.
Reverse the column during washing , to prevent heavy contamination run into the column.
In addition to Uzman please disconnect the detector when rinsing your column.
