Hello! I am new memeber of this forum and I have several questions regarding the sulfur analysis in gas oils and liquid streams coming from FCC or HDS units. So....

First of all if you were about to buy a new detector for qualitative and quantitative determination of sulfur compounds in gasoline, diesel and gas oils what would you prefer? SCD, AED or FPD? WHY??

THANK YOU

HI
the best solution for you may be the "Total Sulfur Analyzer" like from Thermo, C.I.Analytics, Antek or Mitsubishi. They produce Linear Response, You don't have to recognize all the Sulfur components etc.,
AED is very expensive, the FPD & PFPD are not linear, and you must identify each component. in your application FPD will suffer from quencheng effect.
If you need more explanation you may contact me at arie.katzir@caol.co.il
We have done a lot of work on this.
