Help with a Beckman 2010-A Chromlink C/S Interface

I have an HPLC and GC with analog outputs that are connected to a strip chart recorder. I ran across a Beckman 2010-A Chromlink C/S Interface for a couple hundred dollars that looks like it could be used as an analog interface for the chromatographs (two instrument inputs) in place of the strip chart recorders. But I haven't been able to find out much about the Chromlink aside from instruments listed for sale - manuals don't seem to be available and I can't find a real description to determine exactly what this does (it doesn't show up on the Beckman web site). My questions are along the line of; what was it originally designed to do, is my assumption about analog voltage input correct, does it have digital outputs, etc.

I know this is a pretty outdated subject but since this is a hobby for me, I really don't want to spend the money that full chromatography data system requires - and the process of understanding this is part of the fun.

So if I can get any advice on this system (a source for manuals would be great) or recommendations for other options it would be much appreciated.

Couple of hundred dollars for some old a/d box that may not work; needs special cards an old PC and special software is certainly best avoided
If you look on e-bay there is a Canadian company who sell a PC based a/d set up for less than a couple of hundred dollars new with warranty.
It might be a better use of your cash.
