Couple of Different Chemstation Crashes

Hey all, I'm befuddled about a few crashes I've noticed happening in two different versions of ChemStation we are using.

The first is in version D.00.01. Seemingly randomly, online instrument control will crash at random with an "Application 0 error." dialogue box. No Windows error box shows up. I can't seem to find any sort of log explaining why that crashes or what to do about it, I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this (the system is XP SP3 with 4GB of RAM and I believe a 2.8GHz P4)

The second is in version E.02.01. In this one, the offline seems to crash at random, except in this case the error is a bit more descriptive, relatively speaking. The error is 0xC0000005, an access violation, but beyond that, I can't really tell whether it's a ram issue or drivers or what. We recently replaced that system due to that error, but it's still coming up, and I was curious if that is just a known problem with E.02.01 offline.

If anyone has dealt with this before or thinks they might have a solution, I'd really appreciate the advice, thank you!
It must be my fault, I'm really sorry.

Because my supervisor blames all Chemstation crashes on me, as if I strike the keys on the keyboard differently than others in the department.
KM-USA thanks for that joke. :lol:

@Topic:

I had to deal with the 0xC00000005 error long ago with an old HP Kayak PC with two Chemstation A.03.01 versions, one for GC and one for a HPLC.

When I remember correctly this issue was less often when I added RAM to the PC (256MB SD -> 512MB).

After I connected the HPLC to another PC and there just was one instrument on the old PC the crashes disappeared completely.

On another system (1100 LC + MSD), I used the chemstation B.03.01 first, the software crushed without an error message. The B.03.01 used nearly 100% CPU and the software was slow as hell.

So I installed the version B.01.03 and everything worked like it should.

Try to use a clean Win XP, with no extra-software installed/running. Look at RAM/CPU capacity.
KM-USA thanks for that joke. :lol:

Glad you enjoyed the response. But it wasn't a joke.
