UniChrom Question

I've seen UniChrom described as 'free' and I've also seen it described as acquiring data for only 3 minutes if in demo mode.

I got it talking to my HP 5890 today, reading temperatures and stuff, but the chromatogram has the 'demo mode' water mark on it. It seems to be acquiring all data except for the FID.

Do any of you guys have a feel for how much it costs?

Second, do you guys think it failed to acquire my FID signal via RS-232 because it was in demo mode or because it needs a separate analog input?

I've submitted a similar question through the unichrom site but I have not heard back yet.

thanks,

jj
I think it was $800 or so. The author is responsive to changes, but I think it's a one-man shop so sometimes he gets behind.

How are you connecting with your 5890?
I might eventually get UniChrom, especially if I get an autosampler it can talk to.
I do have the RS232 card and I got it talking to unichrom.

At the moment however, I'm using a National Instruments myDAQ data acquisition usb widget to capture the signal from SIG1. I'm in the process of evaluating Peak Simple and the free open source chromatogram tool.

You should be able to acquire detector data regardless of demo-mode.
5890 has 2 channels. Fill in "Signals" appropriate working channels and press [|>]
