Can anybody tell me the impact of Carbon loading in the column on the separation of the peak?

What happen when the Carbon loading is High?

What happen when carbon loading is Low?

Is the high carbon loaded column is suitable for Impurity separation?

All other things being equal, a higher carbon load will result in longer retention times.

The problem is that all other things are seldom equal. Retention and selectivity are controlled by things like surface area, pore size distribution, surface coverage, and bonded-phase chain length, which means that it is quite possible to have two packings with similar carbon load (% carbon), but vastly different chromatographic characteristics.
