Cartridge Column question

Discussions about HPLC, CE, TLC, SFC, and other "liquid phase" separation techniques.

Anyone know a part number for the column cartridge holder below? I sent the same picture to Waters and they were stumped. There is a high likelyhood that it is some type of Frankenstein-Part

Well, if the Waters guys don't know... :(

The outer "golden" parts are half of a Waters guard cartridge holder:

For the middle "silver" part, I don't know.
Thanks for the reply HPLCaddict,

I was thinking the same thing. I've sent the photo to the Waters technical service folks and their guess was a combination of parts.

Perhaps a followup question: Does anyone out there use a 75mm cartridge column? What sort of column holder do you use?

I am reluctant to purchase a Waters "end connector kit" as the smooth sidewalls of my column are evident in the photograph. I don't think the end connector kit would attach properly. Instructions and schematic here: http://www.waters.com/webassets/cms/sup ... 036682.pdf

I am open to other suggestion too. I've already ordered the same column in the typical configuration, but I thought I'd see what others' experiences were with cartridge columns.
Maybe I've seen this before, but don't work their anymore.

Have you asked the waters sale person (not service) how to connect 50 and 75mm cartridge columns?
Guess they should know where to look, as far as they still sell those columns.

But I couldn't find any hints on their website nor in the care,n,use manuals...
have a look at the Column and Consumable Catalog, e.g. pages 147, 177, 389; don't expect to have all questions answered, but gives you details to discus with Waters sales persons...

Don't know if this is the "integrated guard holder" or the "coupler" which should be included in the "End Connector Kit [WAT037525]"
The part number on the guard column cartridge is typical for Waters. You need to ask the "older" guys at Waters. Good opportunity is in a few weeks HPLC in New Orleans. Good luck.

I am pleased to announce the following resolution:

Part number 186000183 is both the cartridge column AND the "silver" extension from the photo above. The "gold" parts are from the end connector kit (WAT037525).

Thanks for all the help and suggestions!
