Hello, I've recently upgraded a computer to Windows 7 and have installed it with a 6890 GC with a 5973N mass spec. Everything was going great but after my sequence finished, I received the error message:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\msdchem\MSexe\msinsctl.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I've never seen this error. Earlier today I upgraded the MSD's firmware and that went through no problem. I'm using Chemstation E.02.02 and I have the Service Pack 2 installed. Any help is greatly appreciated.
If it fails during instrument control loading it may generate a log file called icstart1.log. If there is one it will show what the program was doing when it failed. If there isn't one, then look at the mslog or other log files for a clue. If it is at the end of the sequence try it with a different method prior to starting the sequence.
Sometimes I have had to sit and watch the instrument to see when it failed, especially with D.00 version.

If you contact Agilent, ask them if the instrument control 2 macro is the updated one (Oct 2012 release). The earlier version had some code missing.
