Hi, I work with a Perkin Elmer Clarus 480, with FID, i repleace the Air tank and then the detector doesn´t ingite, but i can see the glow. I checked the flows and there were fine. Help, please!!!! :(
Have you tried cleaning the Jet? Sometimes the jet can get corroded which can prevent it from igniting. Try taking it out and rinsing it with solvents. If that doesn't help you may need to replace it.
Thanks, i´ll do it :)
How did you "check the flows" - with an external flow meter, or using the inbuilt meters of the GC ?

If that doesn't work you may have to adjust your fuel air ratios to get it to light. Once you get it let you can return them to there original position.

*may we presume you got it to light just fine, if so, how'd you do it?
My guess is that the the 'Air' tank replaced was not an 'Air' tank but a Nitrogen tank...................

Around here, air and nitrogen have mutually incompatible connections to prevent just that (after some hospital patients in SA were given pure nitrogen instead of air).
