May I know the best pH operating range while using 5mM Hexane sulfonic acid. are there any possible additives to be used along with HSA for a better peak shape in HPLC
Given that sulfonic acids generally have pKa values < 0, the choice of pH will be determined by column stability and analyte ionization rather than by the ion-pair reagent.

As far as peak shape improvement is concerned, there is nothing about hexanesulfonate that suggests a particular additive, so it would depend on what it is about the analyte that is causing the tailing (insufficient buffer? poorly controlled ionization? multiple conformers? etc.).
