Empowver 2 Data Integrity Check Failure

Dear all,

I am having data integrity check failure problem for one of the data files in a project, I have not done any thing "illegal" to this file. I can find the data file in the folder, the IT guy failed to figure it out the cause from their perspective.

And I have also asked the local Waters office, but their response are conflicting. Some one said inappropriate integration caused this, another one said the problem was due to the operating system.

Do you have similar problem? Have you found the cause?

Integrity checks can fail for many reasons.

The most common cause of an integrity check to fail is because of an aborted run or a run from an injection of sample set method that was never made. In both cases, the oracle database is expecting a file to contain data for a certain amount of time or expecting a data file and either the time is short or the file is missing. Thus, your integrity check failure is generated.

The reason for this is because when a single injection or sample set is started all of the data gets written into the tablespace of the oracle database. If the files are missing or the data is shorter than expected, then you get errors.

I have seen many of these errors, they seem to cause no problems with respect to backing up, restoring or doing anything else with projects.

Thanks for your reply. The backup function and empower software are working Okay now.

My concern is that when inspectors see these data integrity failure problems, they will ask what is going on in my lab.

I need the reference to justify that these integrity problem may happen due to the oracle database itself. Do you happen to have these reference?

I was told this by the regional (Michigan, USA) Enterprise install technician from Waters.

I searched various technical documents from Waters and was unable to find this.

My suggestion would be to contact Waters service and/or support over in China via email and ask them about this. When they respond, you will have your written proof.
