Anyone here tried ESA'a Corona CAD? Comparison to ELSD?

Discussions about HPLC, CE, TLC, SFC, and other "liquid phase" separation techniques.

Good morning all!

A quick question: Has anyone here tested or better yet, purchased ESA's Corona CAD detector? If so, could you please give a quick rundown of pros and cons from a user's perspective? I'm considering purchasing an ELSD (possibly a Waters 2420), but this thing intrigues me. My intended applications include low MW glycols, phospholipids, and possibly high MW biopolymers (hyaluronic acid and derivatives), other sugars and carbohydrates, all in relatively complex matrices.

Also, any real-world info on ELSD's would be appreciated. Which one do you prefer and why? How long have you had it? Maintenance issues? What are your applications? I am generally partial to Waters instruments, but am open minded.

Thanks,

Chris
